I swear since I started playing this game... in the beta... I can think of at least seven things people claimed really messed up the economy, this is just the newest one to whine about, and the only people it ever effects, are the people who are rich enough for it not to matter anyway.

Balth Faction
Rune Trader
Greens
Inscriptions
The Favour Change from PVP to title related
Locked Chests
Zaishen Chest

and I am sure many more I have forgotten

edit. lest not forget Ursanway!

yeah, you must be really really lucky to get one perfect item

Hard Mode is probably the biggest economy change ever. Zaishen Chest is a drop in the bucket of high end stuff.

I like how everyone's definition of a "screwed up economy" is having prices drop from what they were previously. Personally, I think the economy was hella screwed up when building a perfect sword with a mediocre skin was the same price as a full set of elite armor.

I guess I'd compare the Z chest to Robin Hood. Whether it's good or bad depends on if you're the rich or the poor. Keep in mind Robin Hood was always portrayed as the hero.

the economy will always be just fine for the noobies, its the people who want flashy items to show of how rich they are in a game that ruin the economy.

All weapons do the same damage. The economy is mostly based on vanity. Therefore in my mind it was kinda meh in the first place... Not very interesting.

The only problem I have with the Z-chest is rewarding PvP players with PvE items.

Maybe we need to have the PvE equivilent for thier to be some balance, say trade in 5 skill points for 1 Z-Key.

Just go to the gamesite and bet on the tournaments. You can get keys that way without having to pvp.

Sure brought the price down of elemental swords lol I saw one for 15k yesterday being hawked in on district. lol I personally don't think anything is worth 100k in this game because of the stats. If there were "better" weapons and items I might think differently, but, some people put value on looks and there is none, most people don't care about looks they want power and skill. Thing is you can't buy skill and that's the most important thing in the game.

I can agree with this idea, possibly make it 10 skill points.
Before the Z-chest, what was the best chest in the game, the HoH. Now i'd have to say the Z-chest is the best in the game. It can drop any skin in the game, except mb the crystaline (not 100% sure). But still this reminds me with the eternal blade came out, i thought pve finally had a exclusive skin, then a req 9 drop out of the hoh, and then z-chest started pooping them out. PvP has a exclusive skin, the crystaline, this should be fixed seeing how pve doesn't. Possibly let max gold crystalines drop FoW/UW/Duncan end chest only would fix this, still want it to be a rare weapon, just harder to reach chests.

Btw, when the next set of rare skin come out, I bet the first people who get them are people who horde keys like this last batch.

um ...the whole point of the chest is a reward system for pvp'ers. if u want keys u buy them or pvp but having a pve equivalent defeats the wholoe purpose of the chest

and no it didnt ruin the economy at all. when 75% of yr drops r firewaters and creme and u only get somethin good every 100 keys it really hasnt made as much of a difference as stuff like cof runs and ursanway

No it did not.

The economic of GW is only "messed up" if your a power trader or collector of "uber rare" items, for the rest of us it makes no diffrence.
We can still get good maxed weapons at low prices and max stat armour, so for the majority of players the economy is just fine.
